How to play
- Study the picture: it goes through six stages of sharpness, and only moves on when you get it wrong. Take your time, there's no timer.
- Type the character's name as soon as you recognize them.
- A right answer at the first stage is worth 6 points, then one point less at each stage.
- No idea? A button sharpens the picture without you naming anyone: it costs one stage, just like a wrong guess. Eight pictures per game, 48 points at most.

Frequently asked questions
- Does every character have a portrait?
- No: nearly five hundred characters have one. The others never come up in this game, but they still show up in the list of answers.
- What happens if I can't work it out?
- The picture never moves on by itself. At the last stage, a wrong guess reveals the answer and scores no points, and so does the “Skip” button.
- Can this game spoil me?
- No. Before you play, you say whether you follow the anime or the manga. In anime mode, the game only draws characters who have already appeared in the anime and only shows information that has already been adapted.
